| | Big Fun in the Big Apple

Thank you, Heathers fans.
So Lady, Isabella & I made a trip into Manhattan yesterday - and what a glorious day it was! Sunny, warm, a slight breeze blowing through my braided hair (guess who has SAD?) and an excellent day for gathering show supplies.
We found ourselves battling the twisted jungles of the garment district - dodging the precariously hanging fabric and squeezing through the dense thickets of polyester bolts (who's up for a healthy dose of hyperbole? lame metaphor? takers? oh, come on!) to locate the elusive white silks, whose satiny hides will adorn some Angel hides next week as human statues at a Truman Capote Ball. Lady's heckling skills in bargaining with the natives are unmatched, and she scored some wicked deals on raw materials.
Isabella found the perfect new aerial silk that she has been searching and scouting and praying for, only to discover the big, gaping hole in the middle. Sigh.
To make up (wait for it) for the lost silk, and to celebrate the gained, we went to Sephora for expensive cosmetics and free makeovers(get it?). As Isabella put it, "I have $175 worth of make up on my eyes." We left, some of us with tiny black bags, all of us with glittery, rainbowed eyes, to the Big Apple Circus tent to meet a rigger/acrobatic hopeful named Ben.
Pizza, walking, and a pharmacy stop ensued before our departure for New Jersey at 11pm to the castle that is the house in which we are gratefully being kept. Thank you Lady, for knowing so many people on the East Coast, and thank you, oh wonderful queen of the illustrious palace! We are so grateful! |
