Happy Valentine's Day! We hope this finds you wading into 2009 with fun and excitement!

2008 saw the Angels travel farther than ever, with exceptionally notable events and festivals at home and abroad and incredible people along the way. We were touched by the kind welcome from performers in London's Covent Garden, an historical street theatre tradition; honored to perform at the Street Performers' World Championships in Dublin and for African and Asian dignitaries at Singapore's International Water Week; immersed in culture at Dubai Festival City and challenged by the language barrier in Montreal and the economic crisis at home.

This was a year of growth and new adventures, and we're proud to welcome more sparkling personalities to the Aerial Angels crew. Alex Kahler, a Bennington student, interned at our most-talked-about Starfish Circus yet, at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Florida. Alex choreographed two stellar routines in this sold-out, people-in-the-aisles show, and has since lent his artistic skill in graphic design while on study-abroad in Scotland. Another intern returning as a part-time Angel is Colleen "Mango" McIntee. She's developing as an aerialist and a performer while leading Kalamazoo College's circus club.

We also welcome new Company Member Cassie "Miss Pussykatt" Truskowski, an established burlesque performer in her own right and a top ten finalist on this summer's "America's Got Talent." Cassie's been training with the Angels at For the Kidz Gym in Michigan for the past two years, and we're proud to have this spunky, warm-hearted addition to our family.

Cassie wasn't the only one featured on reality TV Artistic Director Allison Williams and Associate Artistic Director Zay Weaver went on the CBC show "Dragon's Den," where they pitched our next big business venture, "The Big Show," and won the heart and pocketbook of entrepreneur Brett Wilson.

"The Big Show" will be a big, indoor show touring big-house theatres across North America. Featuring a mix of Angels Company Members and our performing colleagues, The Big Show will be a death-defying and breathtaking extravaganza akin to "Cirque" shows, but capitalizing on our personalities and drawing from personal experience. Did we mention it's going to be Big?

2009 sees us directing Midsummer Night's Dream in Florida, a new show, Fallen, in Alaska, and starting rehearsals for The Big Show in the spring. We're thrilled to be busking in the summer and at Renaissance Festivals in the fall, and to travel far and wide for events around the world throughout the year. Here's wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day and a fantastic 2009!
